Privacy notice

Growspire Learning Ltd is the data controller for personal information used to operate this website, fulfil workbook orders and support the Growspire Learning app. This notice explains what is processed, why it is used and the choices available to you.

Information we collect

• your email address and the customer, subscription, payment-status and transaction references supplied by Stripe;
• your customer-account email address and secure authentication records handled by Netlify Identity, including account confirmation and password-recovery requests;
• subscription status, amount paid, renewal information, download dates and number of downloads remaining;
• messages you send to our support email address;
• workbook suggestions, your adult-support role, the learning stage and your email address if you choose to provide it; and
• your email address, optional first name, consent choice, consent wording and submission date if you choose to join the Growspire newsletter; and
• security and technical records generated by our website host.

We do not receive or store your full card or Apple Pay details. Stripe processes those details on its secure checkout.

Home education learning log

The optional learning log stores entries only in the browser storage of the device on which it is used. Learning-log entries are not submitted to or stored by Growspire Learning, Netlify or Stripe. Growspire cannot view or recover them. Parents can print or save the log as a PDF and can download a CSV or JSON backup using their own device.

The learning log is deliberately designed without fields for a child’s name, date of birth, address, school, health information, EHCP details or photographs. Parents must not enter identifiable information in the free-text fields and should download a backup before clearing browser data or changing devices.

Growspire Learning app on the Amazon Appstore

The app may receive the adult purchaser’s Amazon app-specific user identifier and Amazon purchase entitlement or purchase-history responses. The app processes these values locally on the device to unlock or restore a subscription, prevent an entitlement being carried across to a different Amazon account, and support fraud prevention, security and compliance.

The app also checks an Amazon-provided consent status so that it can close safely when Amazon has not confirmed permission for the current profile. It does not receive the child’s name or date of birth from that check.

These Amazon values are not sent to a Growspire Learning server, are not sold and are not shared for advertising. Growspire Learning does not receive payment-card details from Amazon. Amazon processes app payments and manages billing under Amazon’s own terms.

The app does not provide child accounts, advertising, analytics or public chat. It does not request access to the camera, microphone, contacts or precise location. Learning progress, notebook entries, creative pictures and accessibility choices remain locally on the device unless an adult chooses to print or otherwise export something using the device’s own controls.

How and why we use it

We use subscription and order information because it is necessary to provide the library access you requested, verify continuing access, personalise the PDF files, prevent unauthorised sharing, provide support and keep business and tax records. We review workbook suggestions to improve and plan our educational resources, based on our legitimate interests in developing the Growspire library. We use limited technical records for our legitimate interests in keeping the store reliable and secure, and we use information where necessary to meet legal obligations.

If you actively choose to join the Growspire newsletter, we rely on your consent to send occasional marketing emails about new Growspire workbooks, stories, apps, games and selected family attraction offers. Joining is optional and does not affect your subscription or workbook access. We do not share newsletter addresses with attraction providers. You may withdraw consent at any time by using the unsubscribe method in a newsletter or by emailing us.

Your purchaser email and a shortened Stripe order reference are placed on every page of the personalised PDF. Anyone who sees that copy may therefore see this information.

Who we share it with

We use Stripe for checkout and payment processing, and Netlify for website hosting, secure functions, protected file storage, workbook-suggestion forms and newsletter opt-in form handling. These providers process information under their own security and data-protection arrangements. We may also disclose information where the law requires it or to protect legal rights.

How long we keep it

Subscription, order and transaction records may be kept for up to seven years where needed for accounting, tax, fraud prevention or legal claims. Support messages and workbook suggestions are kept only as long as reasonably needed for support and resource planning. Newsletter consent records are kept while you remain subscribed and a minimal suppression record may be kept after you unsubscribe so that we do not contact you again by mistake. Subscriber library access continues while the paid subscription is active. Individual signed download links normally expire after seven days for security and are refreshed when the private library page is reopened; the separate download limit and active-subscription check still apply.

Cookies

The Growspire website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. Essential technology may be used to keep the service secure and complete checkout. Stripe may use strictly necessary cookies on its hosted payment page. We will update this notice and ask for consent before adding any non-essential cookies.

Children

Our resources are for children, but purchases must be made by an adult. We do not knowingly ask for a child’s personal information.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask to access, correct, erase or restrict your information, object to certain use, or receive a portable copy. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. Contact us first if you would like us to help.
